Length: 19 - 25 cm. Wingspan: 53 cm. Longevity: maximum recorded 11 years in the wild. One banded bird at 8 years (differing authorities). Status in Stanley Park:
No known reports.

A single bird was sighted in 2017 not far from Iona, but was harrased by the birding paparazzi and had to be relocated by Wildlife Officers. I believe this species was resident in the Lower Mainland until the early '70s.
